Max Payne 2 Replay

Most would say that in almost every sense of the word this is technically and objectively a superior game to the first Max Payne. In its technology, world detail, the introduction of ragdoll physics, an even more cinematic presentation and so forth.  It doesn’t seem to hit as hard as the first Max Payne does for me.  Maybe it’s the obtuse level design. Perhaps it’s the change of the face that is neither creator Sam Lake from the first game nor the face of the voice actor James McCaffery from the third game. The dream levels are a bit more tolerable this time (I had to skip them in the first one), and the action is more cool and cinematic, especially the bullet time spinning reloads.  The romance with Mona feels a little shoehorned in but, I don’t know.  It doesn’t pack the same punch as the 1st or 3rd game.  It’s very middle of the road.
